Snowman Survival Hints

Objective: Survive from Jan. 1 until March 21

You are a snowman stranded in the middle of nowhere in an open field. It is January 1, and the temperature is a cool 30°F. You don't the coming weather but you hope it stays chilly and cloudy for a while.

Can you survive until Spring?

Good and Bad Things for the Snowman:

Action Effect +/-
Catching Snowflakes (+1 health or in some cases +2)
Collecting snowballs + Health Points
Upgrades ('U' key) + speed, partial resistance to rain/above freezing temperatures
Catching raindrops - Health points
Being in the sun - Health Points
Being in a puddle - Health Points
Above 32°F temperatures - Health Points

Overall strategy: Stay out of the sun (under clouds) and collect snowflakes whenever you reasonably can. The snowballs are also really important to collect as well. You can't control the temperature but it tends to stay cooler in the heart of winter but as you go into February and definitely by March the temperature will tend to rise.

To your benefit, your snowman buddies will periodically send you cash. You should use this cash to buy upgrades ('U') that will aid in your survival. There are five upgrades, the first three of which have no prerequisites: stick arms, top hat, winter scarf, winter coat, and skis. It is up to you to decide which will be most useful, and cost-effective, to stay frozen until you can escape to colder grounds. Always keep in the mind that spring is coming and you must 'stockpile' snow to outlast the coming warmth of spring. Good luck!

Keep Frozen.
